Who operates Florida Cruisers
Florida Cruisers is owned and operated by Brown Consulting LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We organize recreational group-boating events and publish related planning information. We are not a yacht club, marina, charter operator, or cruise line.
Information we collect
If you contact us, RSVP, or request to join an event, we may collect your name, email address, mobile number, boat details, party or crew information, selected activities, arrival notes, and the content of your message. If you subscribe to text updates, we collect your name, mobile number, consent choices, the exact disclosures presented, the date and time of consent, the source page, originating number, IP address, browser user agent, and related technical records needed to document and operate the program. When a member asks an administrator to record verbal or written permission, we also retain the administrator’s identity, the permission method, and a short evidence note describing how permission was received.
How we use information
We use information to plan and coordinate destination cruises, track expected participation, communicate route and marina details, respond to questions, publish and improve boating resources, provide optional participant rosters, deliver requested text updates, honor opt-out and help requests, prevent abuse, maintain consent records, and meet legal and carrier compliance obligations.
Optional event participant roster
Each member can choose from their profile whether other signed-in members may see their name and RSVP status. When sharing is off, the response is included only in the Anonymous Participants count. Event administrators and assigned event planners can always see the complete event RSVP record, including operational details needed to plan the event. This choice is optional and can be changed from the member profile at any time. RSVP notes remain visible only to authorized event planners.
Member event photos
Approved members may upload photos to an event album. The photo, its filename, upload time, dimensions, file size, and uploader name are stored so other signed-in members can view or download the album. We create JPEG viewing and default-download copies that remove embedded EXIF and camera-location metadata. An explicit original-file download remains available to signed-in members and may contain metadata retained by the member’s camera. Event photos are kept in private object storage and are delivered through short-lived access links after membership authorization. Photos remain with the event until an administrator permanently deletes the event or we remove them in response to a valid request.
Mobile information and messaging consent
We do not sell or share mobile numbers, SMS opt-in data, or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes. We do not provide subscriber information to cruise lines, travel sellers, lead buyers, data brokers, or unaffiliated marketers.
Service providers that host the website, store records, help protect the service, or deliver messages may process information only as needed to perform those services for us. Mobile-originating information and consent records are excluded from any data-sharing permission elsewhere in this policy.
Messages from Florida Cruisers are sent from +1 (888) 292-0089. Message frequency varies and is generally low between events. If you RSVP for an event, you may receive several messages in the days leading up to it and typically 8–12 messages per day during the active event. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Cookies, website usage, and member support
Our hosting and security providers may use essential cookies or collect standard request information such as IP address, device and browser details, timestamps, and requested pages to deliver and secure the website. For signed-in members, we also keep first-party operational records of successful sign-ins, visit times, requested page paths, page-view counts, approximate active time while the site is visible, and completed account actions such as saving an RSVP, changing a profile, or opting in or out of text updates. We use these records to understand member adoption, improve support, and identify areas of the site that may be difficult to use.
The member session is an essential first-party cookie backed by a revocable database record. A successful visit to an authenticated page while the browser tab is visible extends its expiration to 30 days from that visit. Public pages, hidden tabs, email scanners, failed requests, and background analytics do not extend the session. Signing out, account deactivation, or changing a sign-in contact ends affected sessions immediately.
We record that an action was completed and a limited operational summary, but we do not record form contents or keystrokes as usage analytics. For event-media downloads, that operational record includes the event, selected filenames, requested format, and whether one item, selected items, or the full available album was downloaded. Stored page paths exclude query strings and page fragments. Detailed member usage is restricted to the developer-level super administrator and is used only to understand adoption, diagnose member support problems, and improve difficult parts of the site. We do not use this information to build or sell third-party advertising profiles.
Detailed page-view, visible-tab-time, visit-session, and successful-sign-in records are retained for up to 12 months and then automatically deleted. Operational audit, consent, delivery, security, and suppression records follow the separate retention needs described below.
Data retention and choices
We retain contact and consent records for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, document consent, honor suppression requests, resolve disputes, and satisfy carrier or legal obligations. Reply STOP to end text messages. To request access, correction, or deletion, email info@cyccruisers.org. Some records may be retained when required for compliance, fraud prevention, or suppression enforcement.
Security and changes
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system is completely secure. We may update this policy as the website or its providers change; the date above identifies the latest revision.
